No Reins: Changing Perspectives

No Reins is an equine-assisted learning provider with a strong community focus. Their vision: to be able to assist more people all year round and develop deeper partnerships with health and social-care providers.

Strategic Challenge

No Reins needed to:

  • Translate their vision into a clear, actionable growth blueprint
  • Look at alternate ways to access funding and grants including restructuring from sole trader to CIC to access grants and contracts
  • Refresh their digital presence and brand assets to appeal to referral partners, funders, and year-round clients

They needed a partner to map the journey, guide organisational changes, and position them for funding success.

Strategic Response

1. Growth Roadmap

Mapped the ideal indoor/outdoor learning environment and outreach goals into a step-by-step business plan with:

  • Milestones
  • Timelines
  • Revenue checkpoints

2. Organisation Transformation

Advised on CIC structure, introduced a specialist accountant, and facilitated sessions with a grant-writing expert to streamline funding applications.

3. Funding Facilitation

Coordinated multiple planning meetings (including on-site visits) with West Lindsey grant officers to scope and cost the yurt classroom project.

4. Brand & Digital Refresh

Created a creative brief for a brand refresh, retaining the existing logo and colours but updating:

  • Visual assets
  • Website UX
  • Video storytelling concepts

Result so far

  • CIC registration filed and currently in process
  • Two in-person grant officer meetings completed (including on-site)
  • Detailed requirements defined for the yurt classroom project
  • A living, prioritised roadmap guiding grant bids, legal set-up, and brand refresh deliverables
  • Greater clarity, confidence, and an organisational foundation to focus on client care and service delivery

Lessons for similar organisations

  1. Structure matters — The right legal framework can open doors to funding and partnerships.
  2. Plan visually — A clear, milestone-based roadmap helps keep focus and momentum.
  3. Bring funders in early — Engaging grant officers during the planning stage builds trust and alignment.
  4. Refresh with purpose — Brand updates should serve strategic goals, not just aesthetics.
  5. Invest in partnerships — Health and social-care collaborations strengthen service impact and funding potential.

The Road Ahead

No Reins is now poised for sustainable growth:

  • Ready to launch their refreshed brand alongside the yurt classroom initiative
  • Equipped with a funding-ready CIC structure
  • Backed by a clear action plan that balances service delivery with organisational development

No Reins demonstrates how strategic clarity, structural change, and targeted brand investment can transform a community vision into an achievable growth path.
